The Brief

The existing kitchen was over 20 years old, with peeling laminate, limited counter space, and a layout that isolated the cook from the rest of the family. The client wanted a modern, open-plan kitchen that would serve as the heart of the home—a place for cooking, eating, and socializing.

Design & Build

We removed a non-load-bearing wall to open up the kitchen to the dining area, creating a spacious open-plan environment. The electrical and plumbing systems were completely updated to accommodate new high-end appliances, including an induction hob and a boiling water tap.

Features & Finishes

• Cabinetry: Handleless matte charcoal units for a sleek, contemporary look, paired with soft-close mechanisms.
• Worktops: Durable white quartz worktops with subtle grey veining, providing a bright contrast to the dark cabinets.
• Central Island: A large island with bar seating, extra storage, and a built-in wine cooler.
• Lighting: A combination of task lighting under the cabinets and statement pendant lights over the island.

The Transformation

The kitchen is now a showstopper. The open layout allows for easy flow between cooking and dining areas, making it perfect for entertaining. The high-quality materials and appliances have made cooking a pleasure rather than a chore. The client is thrilled with their new space, which has truly become the hub of their family life.
